About
A record, not a verdict.
SafeASI.org exists to put ASI-relevant public information in one place, with a link back to the source on every entry. The site takes no position on any bill, actor, or outcome.
What this is
SafeASI.org is an independent, neutral aggregator. We collect four kinds of public records — legislation, hearings and markups, agency actions, and publicized AI loss-of-control incidents — normalize them into one searchable format, and link each entry to its primary source.
The site adds descriptive fields only: chamber, committee, topic category, procedural status, dates, and a plain-language summary of what the document says. It does not grade, rank, endorse, or recommend.
What we do — and don't
We do: maintain the tracker and incident log; link primary sources; describe entries in plain language; publish explainers that describe how mechanisms work; log corrections visibly.
We don't: rate or grade legislation; accept advertising, lab funding, or paid placements; publish unsourced claims; run campaigns or petitions; or characterize any actor's motives.
Data sources
| Record type | Primary sources | Update cadence |
|---|---|---|
| Legislation | Congress.gov bill text and actions; cross-checked against GovTrack | Weekly |
| Hearings & markups | Committee calendars, hearing records, and archived webcasts | Weekly, plus same-day additions after sessions |
| Agency actions | Federal Register rulemakings; agency press releases (NIST, BIS, OSTP) | Weekly |
| Incidents | Developer disclosures, government statements and filings, established press reports | As verified |
Inclusion criteria for incidents
An incident is listed only when it is documented by a developer disclosure, a government statement or filing, or an established press report — and the entry links to that documentation. Unverified claims, anonymous reports, and social-media-only accounts are not listed. Where facts are disputed, the entry describes the dispute rather than resolving it.
Corrections
Errors get fixed visibly. Send corrections to corrections@safeasi.org; accepted corrections are applied within 72 hours and noted in the affected entry's last-action line. Substantive change history for each entry lives in the tracker itself.
Funding & independence
SafeASI is currently citizen-run and unfunded. If that changes — grants, sponsors, institutional backing — the funding will be disclosed on this page within thirty days, because the first rule of keeping a neutral record is that someone keeps a record of the record-keeper.
